NLHO preparing 2,600 hectares of land for housing in Khorasan Razavi, deputy minister says

Iran’s deputy minister of roads and urban development announced that 2,600 hectares of land are being prepared for housing projects in the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi.

Ali Nabian, who also heads the National Land and Housing Organization, made the remarks during a joint meeting in Mashhad with Mohammadreza Rezai-Kouchi, head of parliament’s civil engineering committee, and other lawmakers.

Nabian said the projects fall under national legislation promoting mass housing construction, family support and population growth, and housing provision for veterans and low-income groups. He stressed the need to accelerate implementation in the province, noting that work is underway on 76 sites, with the first phase nearly complete at 98 percent progress. Entry into the second phase, he said, requires closer coordination with utility and service providers.

The deputy minister added that under the Family and Population Growth Law, 216 hectares of land have so far been allocated to more than 8,600 families in the province. He also cited the ongoing Mehrgan township project, which is 60 percent complete and will provide 2,440 housing units once finished.

The meeting also heard updates from provincial housing officials on the status of the National Housing Movement and related projects.
